Join us on Friday 1st to Wednesday 13th September for a Japanese Cultural Experience, featuring the Kumano Kudo Trail.

Starting in Osaka, spend your first few days in Japan soaking up the culture, with guided tours of the Fushimi Inari Shrine and Osaka Castle. Travelling onto Mount Koya, stay in the Buddhist community of Koyasan, spending the night in a Japanese temple.

92KM over 6 days

We begin the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage on the Kohechi route, walking 65km over 4 days through the beautiful Kii Mountain Range.

Our final route is the Nakahechi trail, where we will hike 27km over 2 days from Hongu Taisha to Nachi-Taisha.

You will share in incredible regional cuisine hosted in traditional Japanese guesthouses, and experience authentic hospitality and rejuvenating onsens.

Prerequisites are

Grade 3-4 hiking experience recommended. Some tracks are long, rough and a little steep.

Be comfortable with walking with your day pack.

It can be a little challenging due to the terrain & weather condition’s at times, and you must be prepared to keep up with the group – being a team player is highly recommended.
