The Overland Track is Australia’s premier alpine walk. It’s a 64 km, six-day trek through the heart of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, part of the, magnificent Tasmanian Wilderness, World Heritage Area. The stunning, scenery and the physical challenge of the Overland Track, have given it a national and, international reputation as one of , the great wilderness bushwalks.

Your journey will be physically demanding, emotionally challenging and scenically spectacular. This is a landscape of glacially carved valleys, ancient rainforests, fragrant eucalypt forests, golden button grass moorlands and beautiful alpine meadows. Optional side-trips take you to cascading waterfalls and mountain summits, including Tasmania’s highest peak, Mount Ossa (1617 m).

Prerequisites are

Grade 4-5 hiking experience recommended. Some tracks are long, rough and very steep.

Be comfortable with walking for a long period of time carrying your own pack, which could weight up to 18kg.

It can be a little challenging due to the terrain & weather condition’s at times, and you must be prepared to keep up with the group – being a team player is highly recommended.

Must find your own way to Launceston and arrive on or before the 4th November 2024.
